Last month, I had the pleasure of welcoming the talented photographer Brooke Ivy and the stunning model Lady Ashley to my play space for a unique photoshoot. The focus of the shoot was my latex vacuum bed, BDSM equipment that offers a mix of sensory deprivation and full-body confinement. And since we are all huge fans of latex, kink, and creativity, this was a means to happen!
Easing the nerves
In the days leading up to the shoot, Ashley shared some feelings of nervousness, which is completely understandable. To ease her mind, I walked her through the vacuum process step by step. On the day of the shoot, we took our time to make sure she was comfortable. We even did a quick trial run so that Ashley could get familiar with the sensations and know what to expect.
The latex vacuum bed can feel nerve-wrecking because it combines sensory deprivation, full-body compression, and a loss of control. The restricted movement and breathing, reliance on someone else for safety, and fear of the unknown can trigger anxiety, especially for first-timers.
That’s why preparation and safety were a top priority leading up to and throughout the shoot. Ashley’s boyfriend kindly acted as a spotter, operating the vacuum while I focused on posing. Knowing that someone else was there to handle the vacuum made the experience much more reassuring for everyone involved. I emphasized that the vacuum bed experience is primarily a mind game – a surrender of control that can feel both nerve-wrecking and calming at the same time. Most people come out of it feeling deeply relaxed. And sometimes even emotional. (It’s under the edge play wing for a reason).
To ensure Ashley’s comfort, I demonstrated how quickly the vacuum could be released: just a single second to pull the latex apart. I also reassured her that her face would always remain accessible at the opening, adding to the feeling of safety. Once she was familiar with the vacuum, she told us it was calming and relaxing. Like a very, very, tight hug.

The entire experience was terrific, and the results of the shoot speak for themselves. Brooke Ivy’s artistic eye captured the visuals beautifully, and Lady Ashley’s trust and willingness to embrace the process made it all possible. Brooke Ivy was so intrigued that she also wanted to have a turn in the vacuum. Of course, I jumped at the opportunity to put her in there as well. It was a day full of (nervous) laughs, breathtaking moments, and beautifully emotional moments.
